The New Frontier Casino , las vegas The Last days of what is I think after the implosion of the Stardust earlier this year, is the last of the major Las Vegas Mob owned Casino from the old Mob days. It does look kind of out of place sitting there on the las vegas strip, small, old fashioned but for those who prefered the Adult Vegas of old, the real Sin City now gone it is a sad day to loose another piece of Vegas History.
The old and the new, which is the better Vegas? Depends on who You speak with. It is for sure another step towards the end of what made Vegas unique and a "true" Sin City and a step closer to the new status que..... Impersonal, mind numbing "MTV" style faux entertainment with the bottom line being the only goal. Where the "Beautiful People" linger much like the episode of the original Star Trek where the entire planet looked ,dressed and acted alike , doing nothing but giggling and chasing each other around the tranqil pools like 3rd graders had become the norm....... Is that the Future for Las Vegas...of course.....The "Sin " is already gone unless You are of the mind where stumbling around acting drunker than a drunk should, yelling like at a collage frat party and actually thinking that "what happens in vegas stays...." is a slogan with actual meaning rather than a simle marketing tool to feed to todays "cool people"
The Pool is "officially" closed as of the end of June 2007 , when this picture was taken, but as You can see the die hard still are using it.
